The fund aims to:

Assist a Year 9 or 10 student living away from home in a boarding situation with financial assistance.

The following is required:

  • NZ citizen, Year 9 or 10 in the year the bursary is awarded and living away from home

  • A letter outlining the reasons for needing financial assistance, written by a parent or caregiver

  • A supporting letter from the principal or a current teacher

  • Previous results/last school report/academic reference

  • Character reference from a responsible citizen (non-family member) who is known to the applicant

Applications open 19 August 2026 to 30 September 2026.

The duration of this bursary is one year, with $900 available each year, up to a maximum of 4 years.
