About The Great Recharge

Life in rural New Zealand asks a lot of us. Whether you're running a farm, growing a business, leading a team, or supporting your family and community, the pressure can be relentless. Market shifts. Weather changes. People relying on you. Looking after your own wellbeing often slips to the bottom of the list.

Most of us were never taught the science of staying strong under pressure and have unintentionally developed habits that drain our energy and leave us with less capacity for the things that matter most – like giving ourselves permission to pause and enjoy views like this every now and then.

The Great Recharge was created to change that.

The programme explores resilience as an everyday skill to support high performance in a challenging world, rather than traditional wellbeing models which are often aimed at support when we are already struggling.

Created by Kathryn Jackson in 2020, The Great Recharge combines crisis response, neuroscience, and strength psychology with her own lived experience supporting the rebuild of Canterbury to help humans build real resilience well before they reach breaking point.

This is the work that comes before mental health first aid.

Because just as we prepare our farms, businesses, and communities for challenging seasons, we can prepare ourselves too.

Participants learn how to:

💜 Manage pressure without running on empty

💜 Build everyday habits and skills that can keep people steady and beat burnout

💜 Protect energy before busy seasons become overwhelming

💜 Support family members, colleagues, and teams through change

💜 Strengthen the people, relationships, and workplaces that rural communities rely on.

We believe that when the people behind rural New Zealand are steady, confident, and energised - our farms, businesses, families, and communities are stronger.

Workshops and coaching can be delivered for rural businesses, community groups, organisations, and leadership teams across Aotearoa, New Zealand either in person or online.
