Hi, I’m Iz the CV Whiz. I’ve been writing, editing and publishing for my whole professional life – almost 30 years now – including as a senior government manager hiring in both NZ and the UK.

In 2020, I switched to living rurally and will never look back! When lockdown hit, I started CV Whiz to help people, like myself, who instantly lost their jobs. Since then I’ve supported over 100 people from Canterbury, New Zealand and beyond to claim their next jobs and life steps.

Soon after, I became the Rural Life writer for The Selwyn Times, writing a twice-monthly section about the needs, joys and priorities of rural living, and my conversion was complete.

I love working with rural clients.

Many haven’t needed a CV for decades, or now want school leaver CVs for their kids. I’ve worked with grounds maintenance people, agricultural workers, rural nurses and teachers, horse float truck drivers, environmental and water catchment enthusiasts… plus the whole range of retail, hospo, corporate and council folk who keep regional townships thriving.

My slogan is “Re-write your life…” because a CV truly does do this, in so many ways. So often, clients tell me that having to come up with a CV is a chore, and embarrassing – but then, when they see their experience, skills and achievements written down on paper, they find it deeply affirming.
