About Bit by Bit

Bit by Bit began in Gisborne in 2021, founded by two friends who shared a simple but powerful vision: to create natural, low‑waste products that made sustainable living easier for everyday households.

Their kaupapa was rooted in care — for the home, for the whenua, and for the small, meaningful choices that help protect the world our children will inherit. What started as a local initiative quickly grew into a trusted brand known for honesty, simplicity, and environmental responsibility.

In 2026, our family became the proud new custodians of Bit by Bit, bringing the business home to the Uruti Valley in North Taranaki. As long‑time supporters of the brand and rural whānau ourselves, the transition felt deeply aligned with our own values. Life on our small sheep and beef farm, alongside raising our twin daughters and running another local business, shapes the way we work: steady, hands‑on, community‑minded, and grounded in the rhythms of rural living.

We continue to handcraft every product in small batches using gentle, effective ingredients and refill‑friendly packaging designed to reduce waste. Looking ahead, our vision is to expand the range with thoughtful, meaningful products that genuinely serve households, farms, and rural communities — items that feel good to use and reflect the same integrity the brand was founded on.

We are also committed to growing our network of values‑aligned stockists and accommodation providers across Aotearoa, partnering with businesses who share our ethos of sustainability, quality, and community connection. Bit by Bit remains true to its original intent: helping people make better choices, one small step at a time.
