Nelson Provincial Centennial Leadership Scholarship

The fund aims to:

Make leadership more accessible and help candidates enhance their skills, build networks and gain confidence in their communication and decision-making abilities. Applicants should show a desire to ‘give back’ to their community and will be selected on a merit basis. When completing your application try to show examples of how you have stepped forward in leadership roles outside of your work.

 The following must be included with the application:

Declaration that you are a:

  • NZ citizen or permanent resident and

  • Currently reside in the Nelson Provincial, which covers the area from Maruia to Riwaka and the Whangamoa Saddle and

  • Enrolled in or planning to enroll in a program related to leadership, personal development, or education.

Include a personal statement outlining:

  • Your connection to rural life and community.

  • Your leadership aspirations and how this scholarship will support your journey.

  • How you plan to give back to your community through your development.

If successful you will provide a report on:

  • How the funds were used

  • What you learned or achieved

  • How the experience has impacted your leadership journey and community involvement

This grant opens 12 September 2025 to 30 October 2025. The recipient will be notified 21 November 2025.

This is a ONE-OFF $3,000 grant.
